Gathering the Nostalgic Old Scenes of Jinju in One Place
Jinju City in Gyeongnam Province and the Jinju branch of the Korea Photographers Association will hold the 3rd "I Want to See It Once Again" exhibition at the Gallery Jinsim 1949 on the 2nd floor of Jinju City Hall until the 6th, showcasing photos capturing the old appearance of Jinju City in one place.
This photo exhibition is the result of the "Business Agreement for Utilizing Old Photos of Jinju City" signed by Jinju City and the Photographers Association in April 2022. Among more than 2,400 newly secured materials from 2022 and 2023, 30 works that evoke citizens' nostalgia and well reflect the old appearance of Jinju City were selected for display.

The old photos exhibited this time depict Jinju City from the 1950s to the early 1980s. In particular, the exhibition highlights the historical significance by displaying works showing the appearance before the Jinju Fortress purification project started in 1979, the old site of the Jinju Battle History Park, and the street parade during the formation rally of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Office Restoration Promotion Committee.
Additionally, seven photos secured through materials on Yongso firefighting in Jinju City, donated by former volunteer fire brigade elder Park Im-su, are exhibited to allow visitors to reminisce not only about the old appearance of Jinju but also about citizens' volunteer activities.
A Jinju City official expressed sincere gratitude for the materials provided by the Photographers Association and requested continuous interest in collecting old photos of Jinju City in the future.
Kim Jong-geun, head of the Photographers Association branch, said, "We are making efforts to involve more members in this project," and added, "We will do our best to secure even better materials next year."
