Daedong Gear Secures 1.24 Trillion KRW Order for Core Electric Vehicle Components

Supply to Hyundai Motor and Hyundai Transys until 2036
Expected supply amount approaches 390% of Daedong Gear's annual sales

Daedong Gear, a powertrain specialist company under Daedong Group, announced on the 3rd that it has secured a project for the next-generation hybrid vehicle 'ASS’Y' parts, which are core components of Hyundai Motor Company and Hyundai Transys' electrified drive system 'e-Powertrain,' as well as a reduction gear module project for overseas electric vehicle EV platforms.


The supply period is from 2025 to 2036. The expected total supply amount is 1.2398 trillion KRW, which is approximately 390% of Daedong Gear's annual standalone sales as of 2023. Sales will be recognized from the point when individual purchase orders (PO) are actually received.

Daedong Gear began actively entering this business in 2022, judging that rapid business competitiveness in core parts for hybrid and electric vehicles would be possible due to ▲global industrial trends in electric vehicles and mobility ▲50 years of experience in internal combustion engine power transmission parts business ▲aggressive investment in the group's mobility and robotics businesses.


No Jae-eok, CEO of Daedong Gear, said, "Based on this order, we will continue to expand our business scope in hybrid modular parts not only in the domestic and international electric vehicle markets but also beyond. We will strategically nurture the business based on the technology, production, and sales know-how of internal combustion engine power transmission parts that we have built over the years."
