As a new project this year, the county is promoting the 'Military's Our Citizens Movement' to encourage about 10,000 military personnel and civilian employees stationed in the area to relocate to Gapyeong-gun, aiming to make them a driving force for regional growth.
The newly opened tourism promotion center will serve as a hub to inform military personnel and visitors about Gapyeong's history, culture, tourism resources, and military administration activities. Inside the promotion center, content introducing Gapyeong-gun's major tourist attractions and festivals has been prepared, playing a role in raising awareness of Gapyeong's cultural appeal among visitors and military personnel and encouraging community participation.
Governor Seo Tae-won stated, "The opening of this tourism promotion center is a model case of cooperation and mutual growth between the military and the local community. It is expected to introduce Gapyeong-gun's cultural assets and contribute to revitalizing the local economy. We will continue to strengthen cooperation with the military base and develop it as a driving force for regional growth."
Gapyeong-gun plans to provide various local tourism information to military personnel and visitors through the tourism promotion center and actively encourage participation in cultural events and festivals.
