President Lee Haewoo and Others Visit Thailand

Business Agreement with Thailand-Korea Education Center

Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) discussed cooperation plans with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand and signed a business agreement with the Thailand-Korea Education Center to strengthen its global network and expand international exchanges.

This agreement is a strategic approach to broaden international cooperation and deepen academic and cultural exchanges with Thailand, which is expected to further elevate Dong-A University's international stature.

President Lee Hae-woo of Dong-A University, along with Park Hyun-tae, Director of the Office of External Affairs and International Relations, Shin Sang-moon, Director of Admissions, and Professor Noh Young-jin of the Department of International Trade, recently visited the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand and met with Ambassador Park Yong-min and Director Choi Won-seok of the Thailand-Korea Education Center.

Discussions among Dong-A University, the embassy, and the education center covered educational and industrial trends in Thailand, the demand for Korean language education, and directions for global educational development. Thailand has shown strong interest in the Korean language and Korean culture, and this cooperation is expected to serve as an opportunity to expand not only academic exchanges but also cultural solidarity.

Through the business agreement with the Thailand-Korea Education Center, Dong-A University plans to efficiently utilize Korean language education infrastructure, respond to the demand for Korean language education, expand exchange cooperation with Thai universities, jointly promote international exchange programs, establish a cooperative system for spreading the Korean language and Korean culture, and form a consultative body for sharing educational information and promoting joint projects.

The cooperation between the two institutions is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening educational and cultural ties between Thailand and Korea. Through this agreement, Dong-A University plans to expand not only academic exchanges but also social and cultural solidarity, thereby solidifying its global network.

Ambassador Park Yong-min of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand stated, “The number of Korean language learners in Thailand has reached about 45,000, reflecting a continuous increase in interest in the Korean language and Korean culture,” adding, “The friendly relations between the two countries can deepen further through academic and cultural exchanges.”

He continued, “There is especially great potential for development in trade and investment sectors,” emphasizing, “The embassy will serve as a useful communication channel to further expand academic and economic cooperation between the two countries.”

President Lee Hae-woo said, “The high interest in the Korean language and culture in Thailand presents an important opportunity for Dong-A University to contribute as a key player in international cooperation,” adding, “Furthermore, by leveraging Thailand’s strengths in the medical field, including cooperation with Dong-A University Hospital, we will strengthen strategies for attracting international students and establish ourselves as a leading global university.”

Previously, Dong-A University enhanced academic exchanges and laid the foundation for sustainable development between universities through academic exchange agreements with Chiang Mai University, Kasetsart University, and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.
