Kakao announced on the 19th that it held a ceremony for the awarding of the ISO 22301 certification.
ISO 22301 is a standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS). It is granted to companies that have a management system capable of systematic response and rapid recovery to normalize services in situations where services are interrupted due to failures or disasters.
Kakao stated that it has advanced a step-by-step process from recognizing to responding to crisis situations by identifying key services and risks in advance through service impact analysis and risk assessment.
In addition, Kakao has established, executed, and operated core business recovery plans and is continuously repeating education and training to internalize this as part of the organizational culture. Based on this, it has prepared a system to respond to and recover from unexpected failures or disaster situations, thereby strengthening service continuity.
Go Woo-chan, Kakao Infrastructure Technology Performance Leader, said, "The ISO certification is not a result but an expression of our commitment to prioritize stability and a starting point," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that users' precious daily lives and businesses continue without disruption."
