President Yoon Suk-yeol, who is on a tour of Latin America, arrived in Brazil on the 17th (local time), where the Group of Twenty (G20) summit is being held.
President Yoon arrived in the evening on the presidential aircraft, Air Force One, at Gale?o Air Force Base in Rio de Janeiro.
At the arrival ceremony, Brazil was represented by Breno Costa, the regional ambassador of Rio, and Fabio Silva, the commander of the air force base, while South Korea was represented by Ambassador Choi Young-han to Brazil, who welcomed President Yoon.
At the G20 summit, President Yoon plans to attend the "Global Alliance for Hunger and Poverty Eradication Launch Ceremony" on the 18th, where he will outline the South Korean government's contributions to combating hunger and poverty.
On the 19th, he will propose international cooperation for overcoming the climate crisis and transitioning to clean energy during a session themed "Sustainable Development and Energy Transition."
The presidential office stated, "Taking advantage of the G20 summit, separate meetings are planned with heads of state from countries such as South Africa, Mexico, and Indonesia."
