The prosecution has demanded a 10-year prison sentence for a 20-year-old shaman who psychologically dominated high school students, forcing them to self-harm and repeatedly committing acts of sexual assault, threats, and violence.
On the morning of the 15th, at the Seoul Southern District Court before Judge Jeong Seong-hwa of Criminal Division 11, the prosecution requested that Park Mo (23) be sentenced to 10 years in prison.
The prosecution stated, "The defendant deceived the victim for about two years by pretending to have spiritual powers," and added, "When the victim did not obey him, he would hit them or threaten that something dangerous would happen to their family, psychologically controlling the victim through so-called gaslighting."
They continued, "The victim, subjected to gaslighting, was forced to self-harm and eat food waste, pet dog excrement, and other substances, showing extremely bad criminal behavior," and added, "Considering the significant physical and mental damage suffered by the victim and their strong desire for severe punishment, we hope the court will sentence him to 10 years in prison, order the disclosure and notification of his personal information, and impose a 10-year employment restriction order."
Park is accused of psychologically dominating the victim from March to June 2023, forcing them to self-harm with a weapon and eat food waste and dog excrement (charges include special injury, coercion, and extortion). He is also charged with extorting 3 million won from the victim and committing sexual assault.
According to the prosecution, Mr. A approached the victim, who was a high school senior preparing for college entrance exams in the spring of 2021, and from November of the following year until June last year, lived together while acting as if he were a shaman. He assaulted the victim if they did not obey him and threatened the victim by implying danger to their family.
The sentencing hearing for Park is scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. on the 29th.
