Plantynet announced on the 15th that it recorded cumulative sales of 26.38 billion KRW, operating profit of 1.73 billion KRW, and net profit of 3.74 billion KRW on a consolidated basis for the third quarter of this year. The operating profit increased by approximately 13.5% compared to the same period last year. Cost structure optimization at the group level, including subsidiaries, and an increase in equity-method income contributed to improved performance and strengthened a stable financial structure.
On a separate basis, third-quarter sales amounted to 3.79 billion KRW, with an operating loss of 110 million KRW, continuing the deficit. However, restructuring to improve the profitability structure through the disposal of underperforming businesses has been completed. These bold measures laid the foundation to focus on highly profitable core businesses.
Plantynet plans to accelerate sales growth by advancing and commercializing harmful content blocking technologies to address social issues such as deepfake, online grooming, and voice phishing. The newly established ‘AI Tech Lab’ within the Technology Research Institute is developing a system that can analyze and block video, text, and voice data in real time using AI. Through the advancement of the database (DB), it is expected to provide differentiated solutions and further strengthen competitiveness in the existing harmful content blocking market.
Additionally, the performance of Plantynet’s content division subsidiary, PlantyM, is noteworthy. The digital magazine service ‘Moajin,’ launched by PlantyM in July this year, is rapidly building its business foundation through partnerships with major companies such as Samsung Electronics and KT, emerging as a new cash cow for the group. Next year, by expanding partnerships and strengthening sales activities, it is expected to firmly establish its position in the digital platform market and actively drive performance growth.
A Plantynet official stated, "The third quarter was a meaningful period that laid the foundation to focus on core businesses through cost efficiency and business simplification," adding, "Based on the technological advancement of the AI Tech Lab and the performance of the subsidiary Moajin, performance improvement is expected in the fourth quarter." They further added, "We will continue to create social value based on technological capabilities and business competencies and pursue sustainable growth."
