Jungnang-gu Accelerates Development of Moa Town in Junghwa 2-dong... 2,798 Apartment Units Supplied

Promotion of 6 Moa Housing Sites, 2,798 Apartment Units Scheduled for Supply
Seoul City Approval and Announcement of Moa Town Management Plan (Draft) for 329-38 Jung-hwa 2-dong Area

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) is accelerating the development of aging low-rise residential areas.

On the 14th, the Moa Town management plan (draft) for the area around 329-38, Junghwa 2-dong was approved and announced by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and it is expected that the ongoing Moa Town project will be actively promoted.

The Moa Town in the area of 329-38, Junghwa 2-dong was designated as a redevelopment promotion district in 2006 but was later canceled. It is close to Junghwa Station on Subway Line 7 and near the Jungnangcheon Stream, making it an area with excellent transportation and natural environment.

The newly approved Moa Town management plan (draft) includes zoning upgrades and plans to improve maintenance infrastructure. According to the plan, the existing eight street house maintenance projects in the area of 329-38, Junghwa 2-dong will be expanded and integrated into six Moa housing complexes, supplying a total of 2,798 households.

In particular, the widths of major roads such as Bonghwasan-ro, Bonghwasan-ro 4-gil, and Jungnang-yeok-ro 15-gil will be widened to improve traffic conditions and pedestrian environments, and social infrastructure (living SOC) such as children's parks and public parking lots will be provided for local residents.

Additionally, on Dongil-ro 123-gil, a road closely related to residents' daily lives, a street activation facility section has been designated so that neighborhood living facilities can be arranged along the street. This is expected to create urban vitality in conjunction with the future undergrounding of the Dongbu Expressway and the park development over Jungnangcheon Stream.

Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said, “The day when the Junghwa 2-dong area will be reborn as a premium residential complex is drawing closer,” adding, “We will continue to carry out ongoing housing development projects without delay to create an environment where residents can live comfortably and safely, and do our best to revitalize the city.”

Currently, there are a total of 27 housing development project sites being promoted in Jungnang-gu, including Moa housing projects. This ranks first among the 25 autonomous districts of Seoul, and the district is focusing on housing development projects with the goal of supplying 15,200 new apartments by 2026.
