Paju-si Encourages Existing Food and Public Hygiene Business Operators to Complete Hygiene Training

A Fine of 200,000 KRW Will Be Imposed for Non-Completion by Year-End

Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) has taken steps to encourage businesses that have not completed the regular training for existing operators in 2024 to finish their courses.

Paju City has been promoting the related information through text messages, electronic billboards, bus advertisements (BIS), social networking services (SNS), and the Paju City Hall website, emphasizing the need to complete the training promptly.

The industries required to receive hygiene training from the Hygiene Division for existing operators include △ food service businesses (general, rest, bakery, entertainment bars, delegated catering services), collective catering facilities ▲ food manufacturing and processing, food packaging and sales △ public hygiene businesses (beauty salons, lodging businesses, bathhouses, etc.) △ health functional food sales (general and distribution) △ hygiene product manufacturing, and all licensed industries under the Hygiene Division.

Businesses subject to training must complete a 3-hour course by the end of the year through associations designated as training institutions. Failure to complete the training will result in an administrative fine of 200,000 KRW.

To prevent disadvantages to operators due to non-completion of training, Paju City plans to strengthen business management by encouraging voluntary closure reports for unauthorized closed or suspended businesses and conducting official closure procedures for businesses that have been lost.

Jang Yeon-hee, head of the Hygiene Division, stated, “We plan to strengthen promotion and management to ensure that businesses that have not completed the training will complete it without fail by the end of the year.”
