3km, 7km, and 14km Courses Available
Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on the 13th that it will hold the "It's Okay to Be Slow! Marathon" on the 16th along Section 61 of the Nampalanggil Trail.
This marathon focuses on providing a healing time by walking in harmony with the natural scenery, moving away from the previous concept of quickly reaching the finish line.

Section 61 of the Nampalanggil Trail, where the event will be held, passes through Suncheon Bay Wetland, one of the world's five major coastal wetlands and the largest winter migratory bird habitat, as well as Waon Beach, known for its beautiful sunsets. Along the way, participants can experience the ecology of nature such as reeds, mudflats, the sea, and mountains.
The marathon offers three courses: a 3km course from Byeollyang Hwapo to Jangsan Village, a 7km course to Suncheon Bay Wetland, and a 14km course to Waon Beach.
Medals will be awarded upon completion of each course, and to allow participants to rest, there will be various attractions such as a ramen booth, water gazing booth, busking performances, and surprise quiz events.
A city official said, “This year, the number of hooded cranes visiting Suncheon Bay reached about 7,600. We hope participants will have the luck to see hooded cranes while walking,” adding, “We hope this will be a time to heal while feeling the nature of Suncheon, where various living creatures breathe under the clear sky.”
