Seosan City Operates Chronic Disease Management Program Including Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases

Seosan City in South Chungcheong Province will run the "One Step in the Midwinter, Chronic Disease Management" program from December 14 of this year to February 20 of next year to help citizens prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases during the winter season.

The program will be held at the Seosan National Sports Center every other Thursday for a total of 8 sessions, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, targeting center users.

Since blood vessels constrict and blood pressure rises in winter, increasing the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, the city plans to actively promote the importance of prevention and management of these diseases to its citizens.

The main program includes measuring health indicators such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol, as well as providing health consultations based on the measured results.

Additionally, there will be education on healthy eating habits such as "eating less salty foods" for blood pressure management, and salinity meters will be lent out to help participants develop less salty eating habits.

In particular, the city will provide a health management booklet in which individuals can record their health indicators, contributing to continuous health management for participants.

Kim Yongran, Director of Seosan City Public Health Center, said, "To prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in winter, it is important to maintain healthy lifestyle habits and to know and continuously manage your own health indicators such as blood pressure and blood sugar. Through this program, we will support citizens in managing chronic diseases and staying healthy throughout the winter."
