Youth Mental Health Guardian Pledge Ceremony Held
Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 12th that it held a pledge ceremony on the 11th with Onam Middle School to create a Life Respect Safe Village (education sector) for youth.

The Life Respect Safe Village project utilizes community resources to enhance the value of respecting life and establish a safety net for suicide prevention. The city is gradually creating Life Respect Safe Villages at the eup, myeon, and dong levels.
At this pledge ceremony, the city and Onam Middle School agreed to cooperate in spreading a culture of respecting life and promoting youth mental health through various activities targeting adolescents, including △ identifying, intervening, and connecting high-risk groups △ mental health awareness campaigns △ posting life respect promotional materials △ and life keeper education.
Go Su-cheol, principal of Onam Middle School, stated, “Through this pledge, the school and community will cooperate to systematically manage risk factors and do their best to create an environment where youth can grow up safely.”
Moon Mi-young, head of the Dementia Health Division at Namyangju Public Health Center, said, “By creating the Life Respect Safe Village, we will form an organic linkage system with schools, carefully care for students’ mental health, and strengthen emotional support.”
Meanwhile, adolescents experiencing psychological difficulties can receive counseling through the Namyangju Mental Health Welfare Center if expert help is needed.
