This project is expected to help eliminate the foul odor caused by fallen ginkgo fruits every autumn and simultaneously keep the street environment clean.
The ginkgo fruit collection devices were first installed around roads in Gwangju City where major ginkgo trees naturally grow. They are designed to quickly and neatly collect fallen ginkgo fruits, making cleaning easier. The collected fruits are processed as recyclable resources, reducing resource waste and contributing to environmental protection.
Gwangju City plans to maintain a clean urban environment and make citizens' living conditions more pleasant through the installation of the ginkgo fruit collection devices.
A Gwangju City official said, “The pilot installation of the ginkgo fruit collection devices has alleviated citizens' inconveniences and brought about positive effects. We will continue to expand the installation project to create a better city to live in.”
