Gyeongnam Jeongbo University Tours 'EcoPro' to Strengthen Secondary Battery Capabilities

Twenty-seven students from five participating departments of the project, including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electric Hydrogen Vehicle Engineering, Chemical Energy Engineering, and Computer Science, visited the EcoPro Pohang campus for a factory tour and field trip.


This field trip was conducted as a program to enhance understanding of the secondary battery manufacturing process and practical skills. During the subsequent EcoPro recruitment briefing session, there was an introduction to the EcoPro company and a Q&A session about job preparation.


Shim Jae-hyung, head of the Secondary Battery Innovation Convergence University Project Group, said, "Visiting excellent companies related to secondary batteries provided students with an opportunity to increase their interest in secondary batteries and grow into specialized talents." He added, "Gyeongnam Information University will continue to do its best to nurture talents who will lead the secondary battery field."


The Secondary Battery Innovation Convergence University Project is a project investing approximately 40 billion KRW by 2026, focusing on establishing an autonomous education system without restrictions between universities and fostering creativity that creates new value in the rapidly growing secondary battery industry.


Gyeongnam Information University has formed a consortium with Chungbuk National University, Inha University, Gachon University, and Pusan National University, receiving a total of 10.2 billion KRW in support this year to jointly develop and operate educational programs in the secondary battery field.
