Gyeonggi-do Conducts Safety Inspections of Performance Venues and Hotels Ahead of Year-End and New Year Holidays

Gyeonggi Province will conduct on-site safety management inspections of multi-use facilities from the 12th of this month to the 9th of next month.

On the 11th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will carry out the "2024 Winter Multi-use Facility Safety Management Inspection" targeting large-scale cultural assembly facilities where visitors concentrate due to year-end and New Year events and performances, as well as lodging facilities over 30 years old that pose a fire risk during winter.

The main inspection targets are 23 facilities in 15 cities and counties, including 12 cultural assembly facilities such as comprehensive stadiums, gymnasiums, cultural and arts centers, and civic centers, and 11 lodging facilities such as hotels and resorts. Other facilities will be self-inspected by each city and county using safety management advisory groups.

The key inspection items include ▲establishment and implementation of safety management plans and compliance with safety inspections and safety measures ▲preparation, management, and training of crisis situation manuals for multi-use facilities ▲maintenance status of fire-fighting facilities.

Additionally, the inspection will check risk factors such as main structural parts, exterior walls, and roofs, as well as the maintenance status of emergency evacuation compartments and evacuation routes. It will also examine snow removal measures against heavy snowfall and cold waves, and safety management related to the use of heating devices.

Kim Young-gil, head of the Gyeonggi Province Special Safety Inspection Team, stated, "We will continue to promote on-site safety inspections to eliminate factors that pose risks to the safety of residents."
