"Promoting Book Despite Criticism to 'Remove Memoir'"
Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was involved in a bizarre incident where he was kicked out of a US election vote-counting broadcast after promoting his book.
On the 6th (local time), US political media outlet Politico reported that Johnson was attending as a panelist on the UK Channel 4 election vote-counting broadcast but was removed. Despite the hosts' rebukes, he repeatedly mentioned his memoir 'Unleashed,' which was published last month.
Then, less than two hours into the program, host Krishnan Guru-Murthy introduced a new panelist and said, "We have removed former Prime Minister Johnson from the broadcast because he talked too much about his book."

Murthy had told Johnson right after the broadcast started that he was "too vulgar" and to "put away the memoir," but Johnson refused. When asked about his political comeback prospects and the Ukraine issue, he made no substantial comments and repeatedly referred to his memoir as the source of answers.
Co-host Emily Maitlis pointed out that she would not read his book and that Johnson had effectively failed to answer a single question. Nevertheless, Johnson continued promoting his memoir, claiming he had already answered all questions. He said, "I am currently focused on promoting my book 'Unleashed,' which is available at all good bookstores." The book covers Johnson's time as Mayor of London, Brexit campaigner, Foreign Secretary, and Prime Minister.
Johnson, who has flaunted his friendship with US President-elect Donald Trump, said he met Trump at least twice after leaving office to discuss the Ukraine war and had spoken with him relatively recently. However, he dismissed accusations that he modeled himself after Trump as "complete nonsense."
Meanwhile, Johnson entered politics in 2001 as a Conservative MP and won the London mayoral elections twice in 2008 and 2012. He gained nationwide fame thanks to the 2016 Brexit campaign. Johnson led the pro-Brexit movement with bold and straightforward rhetoric, subsequently becoming a globally recognized politician.
