Support for Enhancing Social Adaptation and Employment Competence of Discharged Soldiers

On the 5th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced that it signed a "Business Agreement to Support Employment for Discharged Soldiers" with six job-related organizations, including the Navy Jinhae Base Command, at the city hall reception room.

The agreement ceremony was held to strengthen the employment capabilities of soldiers currently serving in Changwon who are scheduled to be discharged and veterans, and to support their successful reintegration into society. Attendees included Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City; Lee Sangyeon, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Employers Federation; Kim Taehoon, Commander of the Jinhae Base; Cho Kyungcheol, Director of the Gyeongnam Eastern Veterans Office; Lee Jongbok, Director of the Changwon Employment Center; and Lee Jeonghwan, Director of the Changwon Industry Promotion Agency.

Following this agreement, the organizations will share employment support programs they are currently promoting to provide practical employment information and educational training that can be of real help.

Additionally, to encourage corporate interest and participation, they agreed to collaborate on discovering effective job projects such as linking long-term service soldiers with local companies and paid on-site training systems, holding meetings with promising companies in defense and shipbuilding industries, and promoting outstanding local companies through visits to military units.

Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, “Changwon is a representative naval city of the Republic of Korea and a region capable of creating quality jobs, including in the defense industry where military expertise and experience can be utilized,” adding, “We will do our best to cooperate with related organizations so that discharged soldiers and their families can continue to settle as members of the local community and pursue new challenges.”
