Competition among construction companies to take the lead in AI apartments is fierce. The advancement of AI technology provides residents with convenience in daily life and a higher level of security. At the same time, it is expected to offer construction companies opportunities to create new revenue streams.
AI technology has already subtly integrated into our residential lives. As artificial intelligence advances, it has become a trend to use one's face as a password. It is used in numerous places such as smartphone lock screens, bank application identity verification, airport immigration control systems, university attendance management systems, apartment entrance doors, and community facilities. At the core of the technology that uses and processes facial information is deep learning-based facial recognition technology.
Facial recognition technology automatically opens and closes entrance doors without the need for separate devices like keys or smartphones when residents enter community facilities or the main entrance of the apartment. Since no separate action such as entering a password is required, entry and exit times are saved, and it helps prevent infectious diseases. Moreover, it is advantageous for security because it keeps records of people accessing the facilities and eliminates concerns about password leaks.
Voice recognition functions are also difficult to implement without AI technology. Voice recognition technology understands human language through deep learning-based natural language processing (NLP) technology. Language processing technology, applied to handle and analyze vast amounts of natural language data, has recently made remarkable progress.
Thanks to this, lighting and heating/cooling systems that previously required manual operation can now be controlled with a single voice command such as "Turn on the living room light" or "Set the heating temperature to 24 degrees." Apartments where various home devices can be remotely controlled via smart apps from outside the home have become a natural part of life rather than something mysterious.
With the introduction of AI technology in apartments, residents' convenience and security safety have improved, leading these apartments to become representative landmarks in their regions.
Gyeryong Construction plans to introduce KT AI Home Service, AI autonomous patrol robots, and cleaning robots in ‘Dunsan Eliph The Central,’ located on the KT Daejeon Talent Development Center site in Seo-gu, Daejeon. The patrol robots will perform tasks such as monitoring children's playgrounds within the complex, school routes, parking enforcement, fire surveillance, and blind spot patrols, while the cleaning robots will handle cleaning tasks in community facilities and shared entrance lounges within the complex.
This apartment will also be the first in Daejeon to introduce KT’s AI-based voice recognition wall pad. The wall pad controls lighting, gas, and ventilation within the unit, as well as bedroom-specific temperature control, standby power management, complex access control, smart parking, community facilities, weather, and lifestyle information. Various community facilities within the complex can be quickly accessed after authentication through kiosks equipped with facial recognition technology.
The complex consists of 10 buildings ranging from 3 basement floors to 29 above-ground floors, with a total of 864 units sized between 84 and 145 square meters, and is scheduled for sale in November.
