Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province will implement an online advance reservation system for passport applications and a passport civil service waiting status notification service through the city website starting from the 1st.
Visitors can make a reservation for their passport application visit on the city website (General Civil Affairs → Passport Application & Issuance Guide → Online Passport Civil Service Office → Passport Application Visit Reservation). After making a reservation, applicants can verify their identity at the dedicated online reservation counter and apply without waiting.
However, reservations are only available for passport applications, and visit times can be selected from Monday to Friday between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM.
Additionally, the city plans to enhance convenience for civil petitioners by displaying the real-time waiting status of passport civil service applicants on the city website, allowing visitors without reservations to check the number of people waiting.
Jo Yong-ik, Mayor of Bucheon, said, "We expect that this service will allow civil petitioners to handle passport-related tasks more conveniently and quickly," adding, "We will continue to do our best to provide various services for our citizens."
Meanwhile, Bucheon City operates passport civil service offices at City Hall and the Ojeong District Office. In particular, to accommodate working people and others, the Bucheon City Hall operates a night passport civil service office every Tuesday (except holidays) from 6 PM to 9 PM.
