The photo shows Yeongwol-gun Governor Choi Myeong-seo receiving the certificate related to this on the 29th and taking a commemorative photo with Kim Mi-ja, President of the Korea Wellness Industry Association. The 'K-Wellness City' is a certification project by the Korea Wellness Industry Association that certifies local governments representing South Korea where people can live healthy lives. The K-Wellness City certification project started in 2019 and evaluates wellness-related infrastructure and achievements nationwide, comprehensively assessing future development plans to select cities.
Local governments selected as 'K-Wellness Cities' hold the prestige of representing their respective regions as wellness cities for three years. The Korea Wellness Industry Association prioritizes promoting selected 'K-Wellness Cities' at domestic and international exhibitions and conferences such as the K-Wellness Food & Travel Fair, K-Wellness Day, and the Vietnam K-Wellness Lifestyle Expo.
A Yeongwol-gun official stated, “We are promoting various projects, including infrastructure development, to advance as a wellness travel destination. Being selected as a 'K-Wellness City' has enabled Inje-gun to establish an image as a representative travel destination in South Korea.”
