‘Paju-si City Hall Public Deliberation Task Force’ Capacity Building Training

Paju City conducted a public discussion education session for the 'Paju City Hall Public Discussion Implementation Team' on the 29th.

Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 30th that it conducted public deliberation training for nine members of the "Paju City Hall Public Deliberation Implementation Team" (hereinafter referred to as the Implementation Team) on the 29th.

This training focused on enhancing the Implementation Team's understanding of public deliberation and strengthening their basic capabilities, as their role in managing and supporting the process is crucial for the transparent promotion of public deliberation.

Professor Kim Hak-rin from Dankook University, an expert in public deliberation, served as the instructor and delivered lectures on the topics of ▲ Part 1: What is Public Deliberation? ▲ Part 2: Characteristics of Paju City's Public Deliberation and the Role of the Implementation Team.

A Paju City official stated, "We hope that through this training, the Implementation Team will be able to perform their roles in a neutral and balanced manner," and added, "We will do our best to support the Implementation Team to ensure trusted public deliberation outcomes."

Meanwhile, prior to this training, the city appointed the Implementation Team and officially began the public deliberation procedures, including opinion polls, recruitment of citizen participation groups, collection of citizen opinions, and various discussion forums.
