Talent-sharing volunteer activities including longevity portrait photography also conducted
The Goryeong-gun Comprehensive Volunteer Center in Gyeongbuk (Director Lee Kang-ha) held the '2024 Goryeong Happy Village No. 11 Plaque Ceremony' on the 29th at Banseong 2-ri, Deokgok-myeon, with about 80 volunteers and residents in attendance.
The Happy Village project aims to enhance community spirit by having village residents lead environmental improvement activities and spread a culture of sharing through volunteers' talent donations. Starting with Deukseong-ri, Seongsan-myeon in 2014, Banseong 2-ri has now been selected as the 11th Happy Village.
At the event, local volunteer group members participated in various volunteer activities such as mural painting (with the Cultural Arts Sum Cooperative and others), hairdressing services (local volunteers), longevity photos (Korean Photographers Association Goryeong Branch), magnifying glasses (Lee Jin-hee, CEO of An-gyeong Myung-ga), screen repairs (Lee Sang-heon, CEO of Jeil Aluminum Sash), and lunch provision (Banseong 2-ri Women's Association).
County Governor Lee Nam-cheol said, "I hope this project, which aims for a happy heart living together, will spread as a precious opportunity to reaffirm the importance of neighbors and the value of community." He added, "I send respect and applause to the volunteers who create happiness through service and ask for continued interest and talent donations centered on the Volunteer Center to make Goryeong a happy place."
Goryeong County held the plaque ceremony for "Find It! Goryeong Happy Village No. 11" and is taking a commemorative photo.
