CEO Donghun Ki under investigation for defamation and other charges
Two Medistaff employees are being referred to the prosecution on charges of concealing evidence in connection with the 'medical community blacklist' incident.
The Cyber Investigation Unit 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that during a search of the Medistaff office, a doctor community site, two employees suspected of concealing evidence will be sent to the prosecution without detention on the 28th. However, the police will continue their investigation into Medistaff CEO Ki Dong-hoon (40) on charges including defamation and aiding obstruction of business.
Mr. Ki is suspected of failing to actively protect the authors of posts and strengthen site security while Medistaff was being used as a channel to distribute lists of doctors who did not participate in collective actions in the medical community. He had strengthened security to automatically delete author information 72 hours after posting in March, then shortened this to 24 hours in July. Following the police office search, he also announced compensation such as legal support for members under police investigation.
A police official explained, "We confirmed that two Medistaff employees altered some document contents during the office search," adding, "They were sent to prosecution without detention on charges of concealing evidence related to this."
