Paju-si Holds 'Economic Free Zone Promotion Citizens' Forum' to Build Consensus 'Citizen Forum for the Promotion of Economic Free Zones' Poster.

On the 23rd, Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will hold a 'Citizen Forum for the Promotion of the Free Economic Zone' on the 28th at the Multipurpose Hall of the Asia Publishing Culture Information Center in Paju Publishing Complex.

So far, Paju City has been carrying out activities to promote the Free Economic Zone, a new growth engine for Paju, including holding meetings with businesspeople for the designation of the Free Economic Zone and conducting basic concept establishment research projects.

As part of efforts to raise awareness of the necessity of designating Paju as a Free Economic Zone, the city plans to hold a citizen forum with citizens and businesspeople, inviting experts to discuss why Paju should be designated as a Free Economic Zone and to build public consensus.

At the forum, Lee Won-bin, an expert on Free Economic Zones and a professor of economics at Yonsei University, will give a presentation on the Korean economy, regional development, and the necessity of designating Paju as a Free Economic Zone. Experts from various fields are expected to participate in an open discussion on the Free Economic Zone and the development of Paju City.

If the Free Economic Zone is designated, it is expected that foreign investment will be actively attracted by improving the business environment and living conditions for foreign-invested companies and domestic returning companies, and that citizens' residential environment will be greatly improved through complex development in transportation, industry, housing, medical care, and education.

Starting with the 'Paju Free Economic Zone Citizen Forum,' Paju City plans to take full-scale steps toward the designation of the Free Economic Zone, which will be the first step toward realizing 'Paju, a self-sufficient city of one million.'

Kim Kyung-il, mayor of Paju City, stated, "We will concentrate all administrative power to ensure that the Free Economic Zone, one of the core projects to realize the leap to a self-sufficient city of one million, can be designated."
