Iran Foreign Minister: "Biden, You Know Israel's Retaliation Plan? You Must Be Held Accountable"

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned U.S. President Joe Biden, who said on the 19th (local time) that he is aware of Israel's plan for retaliatory attacks against Iran, stating that he "must be held accountable."

On the same day, Minister Araghchi said on X (formerly Twitter), "Anyone who has knowledge or understanding of 'when and how Israel will attack Iran,' or who provides means and support for such foolish actions, must logically be held responsible for the possible causal consequences."

According to Bloomberg News and others, President Biden responded "yes" to reporters' questions about whether he knows when and how Israel will respond to Iran's attacks while returning to the U.S. after visiting Germany the previous afternoon.

Iran launched about 200 ballistic missiles at Israel on the 1st as retaliation for the explosion that killed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

With Israel hinting at further retaliation, there are speculations that it may strike oil, nuclear, or military facilities within Iran.

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said during an in-flight briefing on the 17th, while President Biden was visiting Germany, that they have had "constructive communication" with Israel.
