Sungshin Women's University Graduate School of Life Welfare Department of Family Counseling and Therapy 2025 New and Transfer Student Recruitment

The Department of Family Counseling and Therapy at the Graduate School of Life Welfare, Sungshin Women's University, announced on the 14th that it is accepting applications for new and transfer students for the March 2025 academic term.

The Department of Family Counseling and Therapy at the Graduate School of Life Welfare, Sungshin Women's University, offers a curriculum designed to train experts who can resolve individual and family issues and help improve family health. This master's program is structured to enhance practical experience and clinical competencies based on family counseling theories.


The Department provides courses aimed at developing practical skills and has established counseling practice rooms on campus where students can engage in interview counseling practice and learning, offering opportunities to acquire actual counseling techniques. Additionally, through extracurricular programs linked with the Gangbuk-gu Family Center and Geumcheon-gu Family Center operated by the Sungshin Women's University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, the curriculum enhances understanding of family counseling in real-world settings.


In particular, the curriculum includes courses for obtaining professional certifications after graduation, such as the Level 2 Professional Counselor (Couple and Family Counseling) certification from the Korean Counseling Association and the Level 2 Family Therapist (Couple and Family Specialist Counselor) certification from the Korean Family Therapy Association. The Graduate School of Life Welfare at Sungshin Women's University also plans to offer courses for the Healthy Family Specialist certification in the future.


The Department of Family Counseling and Therapy offers intensive Saturday classes, enabling students to balance work and study. It also provides research rooms for individual study to create an effective learning environment. Lectures are conducted by family counseling and therapy specialists, certified professional supervisors, and expert faculty members.


Applications for new and transfer male and female students for the first semester of the 2025 academic year will be accepted from October 10 to October 17, 2024. Applicants holding a bachelor's degree, regardless of their undergraduate major, are eligible to apply.
