Namyangju City Opens Youth Cultural Facility 'FunGround Onam'

Namyangju City Opens Youth Cultural Facility 'FunGround Onam' Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, is holding the opening ceremony of 'Fun Ground Onam,' a space supporting the future and dreams of youth, on the 7th.

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 8th that it successfully held the opening ceremony of "Fun Ground Onam," a space supporting the future and dreams of youth, on the 7th.

This facility is the city's first youth-exclusive facility created by leasing a private facility to provide a comfortable environment for rest and play for youth in the Onam area. It has been reborn as a space that fosters the creative capabilities of young people and supports their healthy growth.

Fun Ground Onam was designed reflecting various demands of youth through surveys targeting middle and high school students in Onam-eup and expert group discussions (FGI).

Main facilities include △ a dance practice room equipped with a smart mirror △ a multi-sports space △ a relaxation zone △ a study zone △ a coin karaoke and a self-photo booth.

At the opening ceremony, youth took the lead in social and pre-ceremony performances, receiving enthusiastic responses from participants.

In particular, under the theme "Boring world, go away! Fun fun world, come here to Onam!", a performance and a time capsule sealing ceremony containing the hopes of youth for the future were held, deeply moving the attendees. The time capsule is promised to be opened when a youth facility is established within the Onam Complex Cultural Art Center, raising expectations among youth for a hopeful future.

After the opening ceremony, attendees toured the facility and held a standing discussion meeting with school principals and parents from Onam-eup. At this meeting, discussions were held regarding the operational direction of Fun Ground Onam and the progressive future of youth.

Mayor Joo Gwang-deok stated, "I hope that Fun Ground Onam, the first facility created through leasing by a change of perspective, will establish itself as a space where youth can freely communicate and realize their dreams," and added, "We will not spare continuous interest and support for the healthy growth of youth."

Meanwhile, the city is preparing for the opening of "Fun Ground Dasan" on the 15th and plans to expand cultural and play spaces for youth with the opening of "Fun Ground Sudong" in October next year.
