62% of Gyeonggi Residents Say "High Learning Helps Close Learning Gaps" Survey Results of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education's Hi-Learning

62% of Gyeonggi Province residents responded that the AI-based teaching and learning platform ‘Hi-Learning’ helps reduce learning gaps among students, and 68% said that the distribution of one smart device per student improves students’ access to learning materials, contributing to the enhancement of future learning capabilities.


The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced on the 7th that, based on a telephone survey conducted from September 20 to 24 with 1,200 residents aged 19 and older, 53% of respondents evaluated the Hi-Learning policy as ‘doing well.’ In this survey, 62% responded that Hi-Learning helps reduce learning gaps among students. Additionally, 61% supported the expansion of subjects offered through the Hi-Learning service.


In particular, 59% of residents evaluated the one smart device per student distribution project positively, and 68% showed a favorable response regarding improved access to learning materials and the effectiveness in enhancing future capabilities.


For the stable operation of Hi-Learning, respondents identified the following needs: ▲ Establishment and development of diverse digital teaching and learning content (22%) ▲ Education to prevent overdependence on smart devices (21%) ▲ Development of teachers’ competencies related to digital teaching and learning (15%) ▲ Preparation of substantial maintenance and management plans (15%).


Kim Tae-seok, Director of Future Education at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated, "We will strive further to provide student-tailored education using ‘Hi-Learning’ in response to the positive evaluation from residents," adding, "Along with expanding services through system advancement, we will also do our best to support digital citizenship education, including education to prevent overdependence on smart devices."


Meanwhile, the Office of Education developed Hi-Learning last September, and it is currently operating in 2,470 schools.


The survey was conducted by Korea Research, and the sampling error is ±2.83 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
