Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 2nd that it sold 343,824 units domestically and internationally last month. This is a 3.7% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Domestic sales amounted to 55,805 units, a 3.5% increase compared to the same period. The Grandeur was the best-selling model with 6,120 units, followed by the Santa Fe (5,314 units) and Sonata (4,890 units). Overseas, 288,019 units were sold, a 5.0% decrease compared to the same period last year.
A Hyundai Motor Company official stated, "Uncertain business conditions continue due to demand slowdown caused by high interest rates and increased incentives due to intensified competition. We plan to strengthen production and sales systems suitable for local demand and policies and respond flexibly to market changes by region."
From January to September this year, domestic sales totaled 515,605 units, down 8.5% compared to the same period last year. Overseas sales were 2,562,560 units, a 0.1% decrease during the same period. The total cumulative sales domestically and internationally were 3,075,861 units, a 1.6% decrease compared to the same period.
The company stated, "We will focus on increasing sales of eco-friendly vehicles and improving profitability by expanding market share centered on high value-added models through the global launch of the Casper EV (overseas name: Exter), expanding the lineup of the dedicated electric vehicle brand Ioniq, and developing and expanding hybrid technology and lineups."
