Paradise Spa Dogo Operated Campground
Introducing 50 New Facilities Instead of Existing Caravans
All-Inclusive Lodging, Food, and Activities
Relax by the Fire, Rejuvenate with Spa and Hot Springs

As the non-face-to-face culture spread due to COVID-19, the number of people enjoying camping has significantly increased. According to a survey on camping users conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, the number of domestic camping users in 2022 was 5.83 million, an 11.6% increase compared to the previous year (5.23 million). During the same period, the number of registered campsites also rose by 8.6% to 2,935. The charm of camping lies in enjoying nature in the open outdoors while engaging in various leisure activities such as barbecue and 'bulmeong' (staring blankly at a campfire). It is suitable for families or groups of friends seeking 'healing' away from daily life. On the other hand, setting up various equipment such as tents, tables, and chairs, cleaning up afterward, and packing all the necessary food and supplies can be overwhelming for beginners. There is a place that alleviates such burdens and offers the romance of a one-night camping experience. It is Paradise Spa Dogo Cabin Park, operated by Paradise Group in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do, known as the home of hot springs.

Accommodates up to 6 people... Private lodging and BBQ revamped

According to the related industry on the 4th, Paradise Spa Dogo has undergone a three-month renewal since March to create a new lodging facility called Cabin Park. They demolished 50 caravans (mobile homes that can be towed by a car), which had been used as lodging facilities for over 10 years since 2012, and replaced them all with 'cabins' in the form of container structures reminiscent of forest huts. On a 12,000㎡ (approximately 3,630 pyeong) site, the area is divided into zones A to H, with 50 cabins arranged privately. The white exterior cabins harmonize with the spacious green lawn.

Park Yeon-ho, head of the PR and marketing team at Paradise Spa Dogo, said, "The existing caravans had been used for over 10 years, so the interior and exterior were quite worn out, and they were narrow and uncomfortable for multiple users. With the creation of Cabin Park, the facilities have become much more pleasant, and it has become easier to change the interior or perform maintenance, allowing for long-term management of the facilities."

The biggest change is the expansion of the interior space. The previous caravans had two types: a 4-person room and a 6-person room, but with the creation of Cabin Park, all were unified into 6-person rooms. For two people, an additional fee allows up to six guests to stay. Inside the cabin, one side has a 2-person bunk bed that can sleep four people in total, and on the opposite side, there is a single-person bunk bed. There is also a kitchen space equipped with tableware, an induction cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, and electric rice cooker, as well as a living room area with chairs and a table. The attached bathroom includes a shower and basic shower amenities. Another improvement over the previous caravans is the indoor shoe rack to prevent shoes from getting wet from the morning dew.

The wooden stairs to climb the bunk beds felt stable, and windows on the bed walls and living room space allowed views of the natural scenery, preventing any sense of confinement. The height from floor to ceiling easily exceeds an adult's height, making it comfortable to move around or sleep in the upper bunk. Above all, the old caravans showed signs of wear and tear with stained or damaged bedding, interior, and exterior, but the newly renovated cabins felt fresh and pleasant with lighting and various interior elements. The replaceable bed covers and white-toned bedding looked clean without stains or dampness.

Another joy of camping is the food. Here, barbecue sets are sold for a fee to Cabin Park guests. Pork and beef are the basic options, and 2-person and 4-person sets can be purchased. The 4-person pork set includes 800g of pork neck belly, shrimp, sausage, and so-tteok so-tteok (skewered rice cakes and sausage) grilled on a grate, with portions for each person. Additionally, wrapped vegetables, kimchi, basic seasonings, old-fashioned lunch boxes, and cup noodles are provided in a cooler box. This amount is sufficient not only for families with children but also for four adults. Guests can choose between charcoal grilling or an electric grill. For those who want to enjoy the romance of 'bulmeong,' a campfire set can be ordered for an additional fee.

Through this renewal, an indoor space called 'Living Shell' with multi-person dining tables and chairs was installed in each cabin to allow grilling or dining regardless of the weather outside. Guests needing additional food such as alcoholic beverages, drinks, or snacks can use the 24-hour convenience store near Cabin Park. Breakfast menus such as pork cutlet lunch boxes, seaweed soup, and seolleongtang (ox bone soup) are also sold for a fee via advance reservation. It is designed so that guests do not need to bring any camping supplies at all, ensuring no inconvenience.

The room rate for Cabin Park is 200,000 KRW on weekdays and 300,000 KRW on weekends, excluding peak seasons in summer and winter. If you add the 4-person pork set priced at 120,000 KRW and the campfire set, you can experience camping for between 300,000 and mid-400,000 KRW. According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization targeting 3,079 adults aged 19 and over nationwide who have camping experience, the average expenditure per camping trip was 465,000 KRW in 2021 and 403,000 KRW in 2022, which is not much different from the Cabin Park usage fee. Park said, "Not only families or groups of friends but also local governments, institutions, and clubs often visit in groups, so reservations fill up early not only on weekends but also on weekdays."

Relieve camping fatigue with spa and hot springs

Another advantage promoted by Paradise Spa Dogo is its spa and hot springs. Cabin Park guests can use the spa with indoor and outdoor pools free of charge until the check-in deadline. On the check-out day, they are provided with a free ticket to use the large hot spring bathhouse where they can enjoy the sauna in sulfur hot spring water.

Opened in 2008, Paradise Spa Dogo aims to be a health hot spring where three generations can enjoy together, featuring a balneotherapy pool, large hot spring bathhouse, and various water play facilities. Not only the hot spring area but the entire indoor and outdoor pools are operated with sulfur hot spring water. Sulfur hot springs are known to be excellent for relieving muscle pain, fatigue, and stress, as well as alleviating atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.

Paradise Group renovated the spa interior and exterior last year. The detailed facilities include an indoor balneotherapy pool, outdoor lazy river pool, event spa, outdoor spa, kids' land, wave pool, aqua play and regular pool, large hot spring bathhouse, and open-air bath. Among these, the outdoor lazy river pool operates year-round with a water flow speed of 1 meter per second along a 150-meter course. Following the lazy river leads to a space connected to the indoor balneotherapy pool. The indoor area is spacious and comfortable, modeled after the 'Bade House,' one of Germany's oldest marine therapy facilities. This year, some facilities such as the waterslide and dining area were additionally renovated.

Leveraging over 50 years of experience in hotel and resort businesses, Paradise Group introduced new menu items in the spa dining options, including seolleongtang, seaweed soup from Gijang, chadol (beef brisket) bean sprout ramen, and uni jjajangmyeon (sea urchin black bean noodles).

Among these, the Gijang seaweed soup recipe was received from Paradise City in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, and Paradise Hotel Busan, and fresh ingredients were directly sourced from Gijang-gun, Busan, famous for its seaweed. The rice used is an organic variety grown directly at Paradise Spa Dogo without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, considering consumer health. Additionally, Aqua Bar operates where guests can order simple snacks, alcoholic beverages, and drinks.

A representative of Paradise Spa Dogo said, "We will offer diverse pleasures in a private healing space, combining premium spa hot springs, natural relaxation, and the joy of dining."
