In the Era of 15 Million Pet Owners, Promoting Proper Pet Care Culture and Enhancing Animal Welfare
▲Veterinarian Talk Concert ▲Petiquette Sports Day ▲Snack Making, etc... Time to Share Communication and Empathy Between People and Pets
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) will hold a pet festival to spread a proper pet care culture and lead the improvement of animal welfare.
The '2024 Coexistence with Animals Festival' will take place on October 9th at Nakseongdae Park, and anyone who loves pets, regardless of whether they have pets or not, can participate.
Especially this year, a 'Talk Concert with a Pet Behavior Expert' will be held. Dr. Seol Chaehyun, a veterinarian famous for appearing on 'EBS There Are No Bad Dogs in the World' and 'SBS Animal Farm,' will provide useful information about the principles of happiness and communication with pets.
In addition to the talk concert, this festival is composed of various programs that participants can enjoy with their pets. Through ▲Godzilla Game ▲Petiquette Sports Day ▲Wait Contest, participants can create special memories with their pets.
The 'Godzilla Game' is a competition where pet owners and their pets build and knock down blocks together. The 'Petiquette Sports Day' is conducted in a way that pet owners and their pets overcome various obstacles such as hurdles, and the team that finishes first wins. Pet owners who wish to participate can apply through pre-registration and on-site registration.
The 'Wait Contest' is a competition where pets perform various missions and the pet that waits the longest at the owner's "Wait" signal wins. It is a program worth trying for households with pets that usually have strong patience.
In addition, the district has prepared various counseling and experience booths to provide special experiences for pet owners and their pets. Participants can experience programs for healthy pet life such as ▲simple check-ups ▲hygiene grooming ▲nutrition counseling ▲behavior correction, and also make snacks and accessories for pets such as handmade treats, tugs, name tags, and wool felt.
Mayor Park Junhee said, “I hope this festival becomes a precious time where people and pets come together to communicate and empathize with each other,” and added, “In the era of 15 million pet owners, we will do our best to implement policies that can improve the welfare of both people and animals.”
