Significant Increase in Customers, Sales, and Dwell Time
Emart announced on the 1st that Starfield Market Jukjeon Branch has achieved a significant improvement in performance about a month after its opening.
Located in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, Starfield Market Jukjeon Branch is Emart's future-oriented model that combines rest, experience, and shopping. It is a new concept local community shopping space that greatly strengthens cultural and relaxation areas compared to traditional sales space-centered stores. After a major renewal lasting five months, it was newly unveiled last month.
Starfield Market Jukjeon Branch optimized the existing Emart store by streamlining essential assortments to increase efficiency, while reorganizing the key space on the first floor into a 150-pyeong (approximately 495㎡) Bookground. It was created as a culture and relaxation specialized space featuring a lounge where customers can comfortably stay and rest, and an event stage for various events and performances. Additionally, a 25-pyeong (approximately 82㎡) Kidsground specialized area was established near the kids' fashion brand stores, kids' cafe, and infant rest area, focusing on expanding convenience for customers in their 30s and 40s accompanied by children.
Thanks to these effects, from the opening day on August 29 to September 29, a 32-day period, the number of customers visiting Jukjeon Branch increased by 47% compared to last year. Among all customers visiting Jukjeon Branch, new customers who had not visited the branch even once in the past six months increased by 173% compared to last year. They account for about 38% of all customers visiting the branch since the renewal opening.

Although Emart Jukjeon Branch was downsized from two floors?basement 1 and first floor totaling 3,800 pyeong (12,540㎡)?to basement 1 floor of 2,300 pyeong (7,590㎡), it transformed into a grocery-enhanced store, recording high growth rates of 22% in fruit sales, 27% in vegetables, and 37% in deli products.
By adding over 140 varieties of fresh food and deli assortments to broaden customer choices, and operating a Wholesale zone with ultra-low-priced products in the middle of the fresh produce section to enhance price competitiveness, as well as significantly expanding the Grab&Go corner for convenient deli items such as lunch boxes and sandwiches to 9 meters, the store’s appeal was strengthened.
Sales of tenant brands, centered on famous restaurants, fashion, and lifestyle brands, also grew significantly. Total sales of brands in Starfield Market Jukjeon Branch increased by 381% compared to last year. Many customers visited F&B stores such as the popular donut dessert cafe 'Noted', the trendy Western-style restaurant 'Yoshoku' in Seongsu-dong, and the famous shabu-shabu restaurant 'Seonjae' in Dogok-dong, resulting in a 261% increase in F&B brand sales.
