Gyeonggi Province will distribute disposable aprons and wet wipes containing hygiene management guidelines to restaurants selling Malatang within the province.
On the 30th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will promote a "Hygiene Management Guidelines Promotion Project" in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Food Safety Policy Support Group, targeting hygiene-vulnerable establishments among general restaurants in the province.
This project aims to widely inform restaurants selling Malatang and consumers about hygiene management guidelines and to encourage voluntary hygiene management by the restaurants.
Gyeonggi Province will produce disposable aprons and wet wipes for restaurant customers and distribute them to 1,863 Malatang-selling restaurants in the province during October. In particular, the aprons include a fun psychological test introducing the hygiene management guidelines to naturally encourage customers to take an interest in hygiene management. The wet wipes contain content emphasizing the importance of wearing hygiene caps and masks through a certification photo challenge.
Gyeonggi Province explained that among Chinese-style food businesses, which have both high numbers and rates of administrative sanctions under the Food Sanitation Act, Malatang-selling establishments?whose main customers are young people interested in psychological tests and challenges?were selected as the target.
Through this project, Gyeonggi Province expects to raise the hygiene standards of hygiene-vulnerable establishments in the province and establish voluntary hygiene management, thereby fostering a safe dining culture for residents.
Inchikwon, Director of Food Safety at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Through this project, residents will be able to enjoy a more hygienic and safe dining environment," adding, "We will strive to promote voluntary hygiene management in restaurants, reduce the rate of administrative sanctions, and enhance the trustworthiness of the dining industry in the province."
