Kim Min-seok, Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea, mentioned the failure to attract the Busan Expo and said, "It is all because of the People Power Party, which has relied on pro-government (親與) media and has been doing comfortable and complacent politics."

On the morning of the 25th, the Democratic Party held an on-site Supreme Council meeting at the election office of Kim Gyeong-ji, candidate for Geumjeong District Mayor, located in Geumjeong-gu, Busan. In Busan, Kim Jae-yoon, a People Power Party district mayor elected in 2022, passed away during his term, and a by-election will be held next month. In this area, where conservative forces are strong, the Democratic Party is appealing for support by emphasizing the "regime judgment theory" targeting the president and the ruling party. The Democratic Party also led with the "regime judgment theory" in the last April 10 general election in Busan.

Ahead of the October 16 by-election for the Geumjeong District Mayor, on the afternoon of the 24th at Seodongmi-ro Market in Geumjeong District, Busan, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Kim Kyung-ji, candidate for Geumjeong District Mayor, are greeting merchants and citizens, appealing for support.

At this location, Supreme Council Member Kim stated, "The primary problem in Busan is the People Power Party," and argued, "Busan will survive only if the People Power Party is reprimanded." He continued, "How can we entrust all of Busan to the People Power Party, which has survived by blaming others?" and fiercely criticized, "There was no voice from the Busan People Power Party regarding the medical crisis, the livelihood economy, or the issue of First Lady Kim Geon-hee." Furthermore, he said, "The People Power Party will become the opposition," and "There must be at least one ruling party channel in Busan." He was asserting that the Democratic Party will soon become the "ruling party." The ruling party refers to the party currently holding power in party politics.

Candidate Kim Gyeong-ji said on the same day, "What is the result of about 40 years of conservative party dominance in Geumjeong?" and added, "It is truly sinking into a swamp of stagnation." He then emphasized, "Let us clearly send an early resignation warning to the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and create a virtuous cycle of leap and change in Geumjeong-gu," and stressed, "If you vote, we win."

Lee Jae-myung, the party leader, said the previous afternoon at Seodongmi-ro Market in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, "Only by holding the People Power Party and the Yoon Seok-yeol administration accountable in this by-election will change occur, not the Democratic Party."
