Teukgu Foundation Hosts 'Daedeok Innopolis Forum'... "Exploring Innovation Strategies for Korean Science and Technology"

The Research and Development Special Zone Promotion Foundation announced on the 19th that it will hold the "77th Daedeok Innopolis Forum" on the 24th at the Convergence Technology Research and Production Center of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute of Korea, in collaboration with the Daedeok Club, a non-profit organization.

The forum is a gathering where opinion leaders in the science and technology sector and experts within the special zone come together to discuss the development direction of research and development special zones and science and technology. It has been held four times annually since 2007.


This year's main theme of the forum is "The Role of Science and Technology in Advancing to a Global Leading Nation." At this event, innovative policies and strategic alternatives for advancing as a science and technology powerhouse will be discussed.


The forum will also feature a keynote lecture by Lee Woo-il, former Vice Chairman of the National Science and Technology Advisory Council. Former Vice Chairman Lee will deliver a lecture on the topic "The Direction of Our Science and Technology Innovation."


After the lecture, Kim Wan-du, Vice Chairman of the Daedeok Club, will serve as the moderator for an in-depth discussion. Participants in the discussion include Kim Se-il, Principal Researcher at the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science; Moon Sung-mo, President of the Federation of Science and Technology Institutes; and Lee Myung-hwa, Research Fellow at the Science and Technology Policy Institute. They will share their views on the role of government-funded research institutes and national policies for sustainable science and technology innovation.


Anyone interested in science, technology, and research and development special zones can participate after prior registration. The forum will also be broadcast live on YouTube.
