Han Ji-a, the chief spokesperson of the People Power Party, stated in a commentary, "As the unusual late autumn heatwave rages on, Chuseok shopping basket prices are not falling easily."
Han criticized the opposition parties, including the Democratic Party, for announcing plans to hold a plenary session on the 19th to pass the special law on First Lady Kim Keon-hee and Chae Sang-byeong, as well as the local currency law, saying, "In a situation where even creating a National Assembly for people's livelihoods is insufficient, the opposition is preparing another political conflict in the National Assembly," and added, "They are going against the Chuseok public sentiment that asks to revive the economy and take care of people's livelihoods."
He continued, "The People Power Party will humbly accept the Chuseok public sentiment," and added, "The more the opposition focuses on political conflict, the more the ruling party responsible for state affairs will concentrate on the lives of our people."
Finally, he said, "We sincerely thank the military personnel, firefighters, police officers who are doing their best in their respective positions during the Chuseok holiday, and the medical staff who are caring for patients."
