The cause of the malfunction has not yet been identified. A Fire Department official stated, "Due to an unknown cause, a malfunction occurred in some parts of the Seoul situation room," adding, "The system is being restored, but it will take some time to analyze the cause."
The malfunction lasted for about 45 minutes and was restored around 9:15 PM, normalizing 119 emergency calls.
The Seoul Fire & Disaster Headquarters said, "The system has now been restored, and 119 calls are possible. It appears to be a system error, but the exact cause is still under investigation."
