On the 11th, LS announced that it will donate $250,000 (approximately 330 million KRW) to assist with Vietnam's recovery efforts. LS Cable & System, LS Electric, and E1, which have operations in Vietnam, participated by contributing funds to the international development cooperation NGO, KOFION.
The donations will be used to support disaster victims and recovery efforts in Hai Phong City and Quang Ninh Province, where LS affiliates have established a presence.
LS entered Vietnam in 1996 by establishing LS-VINA, a power cable manufacturing company, in Hai Phong. Currently, LS Cable & System, LS Electric, LS Mtron, E1, and LS Metal operate local production and sales subsidiaries in Vietnam.
An LS representative stated, "As a first-generation Korean company in Vietnam, LS deeply empathizes with the pain of the Vietnamese disaster victims who suffered severe damage from the unprecedented typhoon. We hope to contribute even a small part to the recovery efforts so that the Vietnamese people can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
LS has consistently engaged in overseas disaster-related donations, including the 2008 Sichuan earthquake in China, the 2010 Haiti and Chile earthquakes, the 2011 Great East Japan earthquake, the 2015 Nepal earthquake, and the 2023 Turkey earthquake.
