"Wishing for a Peaceful Chuseok" Gyeongnam Police Implement Special Security Measures for Hangawi

The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency announced that it will implement special public safety measures from the 9th to the 18th of this month in celebration of this year's Chuseok holiday.

During this period, the Gyeongnam Police will designate the Gyeongnam 112 General Situation Room as the command center, and all departments will work together in an integrated response for traffic management, criminal investigation activities, and 112 emergency call responses.

In addition, the Crime Prevention Officer (CPO) team will take the lead in conducting crime prevention inspections at major crime-prone locations and vulnerable facilities during the holiday season.

Police special forces and mobile patrol units will be intensively deployed to multi-use facilities to strengthen visible patrol activities.

They will also manage traffic congestion in areas such as traditional markets, large supermarkets, and public cemeteries, conduct safety inspections at major multi-use facilities including Changwon Jungang Station, major railway stations, bus terminals, and department stores, and focus on criminal investigation activities around secondary financial institutions.

Monitoring will also be carried out for households at risk of repeated domestic violence.

In addition to managing traffic in major congested areas such as highways, national roads, and local roads, the police plan to quickly respond to major incidents by commanding initial response teams and on-call mobile units for on-site situation dissemination and reporting, site control, and resident evacuation.

Especially, during the two weeks before and after the Chuseok holiday, which the government has designated as the emergency response period for the holiday, the police will strengthen preventive patrols at medical institutions and actively support requests for joint response with the fire department, such as clearing the way for ambulances.

Commissioner Kim Seonghee said, "We will focus the capabilities of the Gyeongnam Police to ensure that residents can spend the Chuseok holiday with peace of mind and create a calm holiday atmosphere."
