Goryeong County (Governor Lee Namcheol) opened a Food Art Therapy class for middle-aged and older single-person households on the 2nd floor of the Hobby Classroom at Daegaya Munhwa Nuri on the 27th, aiming to prevent solitary deaths and foster social networks.
The class, attended by 10 single-person households, is designed for middle-aged and older individuals who experience difficulties in forming social relationships. Its purpose is to promote healthier eating habits and alleviate loneliness and isolation through communication and interaction.
The program will run until October 22, with Food Art Therapy and culinary psychological counseling sessions held every Tuesday from 2 PM to 4 PM. Participants who attend all eight sessions will receive a small gift.
An official from the county stated, "We hope that participation in this two-month program will provide a valuable opportunity for self-reflection, building friendships among participants, and enhancing self-esteem and social networks."
