Enzyme specialist Genofocus announced on the 28th that it participated in the 'World Pharmaceutical, Bio, and Health Functional Industry Exhibition (hereinafter 'CPHI/Hi Korea 2024')' together with its subsidiary GF Permantec.
At this exhibition, GF Permantec focused on promoting its health functional food (HFF) ingredients, including Vitamin K2, which was registered in the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety's health functional food standards earlier this year, and nattokinase, which has blood circulation improvement effects. Through a seminar titled '4 Essential Considerations When Choosing Vitamin K2 MK-7 (Menaquinone-7) Raw Materials,' the company introduced the differentiated advantages of its Vitamin K2 brand 'MediQ7.'
Vitamin K2 is a nutrient that helps calcium intake be well absorbed into the bones, promoting bone growth and aiding in the prevention of osteoporosis. It can also prevent vascular calcification by stopping calcium from accumulating in blood vessels. The Vitamin K2 (MediQ7) produced by GF Permantec is a natural fermented ingredient derived from Bacillus strains, containing ultra-high purity menaquinone-7 with an active ingredient content of over 99.9%. Using Ultra-Shield Encapsulation technology, storage stability has been improved. Aqua Solvation technology has also been applied to enable its use in water-soluble products such as functional beverages or jelly formulations.
Genofocus also embarked on expanding the market for its antioxidant enzyme 'GF B SOD.' Based on clinical results for various indications of SOD (superoxide dismutase), the company emphasized that it is a raw material that can replace existing antioxidant substances.
SOD is an antioxidant enzyme that removes reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are major causes of various chronic diseases and aging. It breaks down reactive oxygen species generated in the human body into water and oxygen, helping to prevent and recover from various diseases and chronic inflammations such as intestinal or skin diseases and diabetes.
A Genofocus representative said, "At this exhibition, we were able to communicate with domestic and international HFF companies and buyers, promoting the excellence of our health functional food ingredients, including Vitamin K2, and also understand buyers' needs. We will actively participate in various future events such as 'VitaFoods Asia 2024' held next month in Bangkok, Thailand, and conduct active business meetings with global companies."
The 2024 World Pharmaceutical, Bio, and Health Functional Industry Exhibition is an event aimed at opening sales channels and attracting investors for pharmaceutical, bio, and health functional companies. It is held from the 27th to the 29th of this month at COEX in Seoul. According to the organizers, this year, 345 domestic and international companies from 19 countries and approximately 9,000 visitors and buyers are participating.
