Cheonan's representative agricultural specialty, 'Haneulgreen KyoBong Grapes,' embarked on its first export journey of the year on the 28th.
The "Haneul Green Geobong Grape," a representative agricultural product of Cheonan, Chungnam, was shipped for export for the first time this year on the 28th.
On the 28th, Cheonan City and the Cheonan Grape Agricultural Cooperative held a ceremony at the Cheonan Grape Agricultural Cooperative Export Distribution Center to mark the first export shipment of the year.
The shipment of grapes on this day amounted to 3.6 tons, with an export value of USD 60,000, destined for Australia. Including this shipment, this year's total export volume is expected to reach 150 tons (50 tons of Geobong, 100 tons of Shine Muscat) and USD 2.5 million to six countries, including Australia, New Zealand (with a contract volume of 55 tons), Taiwan, the United States, China, and Thailand.
Previously, the Cheonan Grape Agricultural Cooperative was designated as the only specialized export complex to Australia in Korea, and also received designations as an export complex for the United States, Canada, New Zealand, China, and Thailand. This year, it has also completed pre-registration for exports to Taiwan.
Park Yongjun, CEO of the Cheonan Grape Agricultural Cooperative, said, "As export quarantine requirements to Australia and other countries have become stricter, we are focusing on ensuring safety and quality control throughout the production and distribution process," adding, "We will strive to produce high-quality grapes that meet overseas consumer preferences, enhance market competitiveness, and pioneer new export markets."
Meanwhile, the Cheonan Grape Agricultural Cooperative achieved an export performance last year of 60 tons (15 tons of Geobong and 45 tons of Shine Muscat) with a total export value of USD 999,000.
