KS Industry (formerly Sangsangin Industry) is securing new growth engines through the recruitment of new directors and diversification of its business areas.
The company announced on the 16th that it will hold an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on the 2nd of next month to approve key agenda items, including the appointment of new directors. The candidates for new directors are former Cheongju University professor Odelesa, former Kyonggi University professor Seon Yongbin, and Kim Kwangwook, CEO of Airacle, an eco-friendly air conditioning technology company.
Former professor Odelesa is the first in the world to develop a superconducting phase insulator (TL-5) that operates at room temperature. Former professor Seon Yongbin, an expert in silicon semiconductors who earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, has worked at Samsung Electronics and Dongbu Semiconductor and served as the president of the Semiconductor Display Technology Society. CEO Kim Kwangwook developed the world's first low-power, eco-friendly air conditioning device that uses phase change materials (PCM) to enable free movement without an outdoor unit, winning the Korea Excellent Patent Award. Airacle holds more than 16 patents related to ventilation and air conditioning conditioner technologies.
KS Industry plans to grant performance- and index-linked stock options to these new directors. If the agenda is approved at the shareholders' meeting, the stock options can be exercised for six years starting from March 31, 2027, depending on the achievement of performance targets.
A KS Industry official said, “By linking stock options with management indicators and stock index indicators, we aim to realize responsible management by the new directors and encourage their participation in enhancing future corporate value and shareholder value. Based on the currently thriving existing ship crane business, we will continuously grow by successfully establishing new businesses through large-scale capital attraction.”
