Support Project for Children's Reading Culture Activities 'Drawing Poetry'
Sponsored by Korea Investment Corporation, Targeting Multicultural Children and Others
Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) has prepared an opportunity to experience the beauty of poetry to support children's reading culture activities.
The program "Drawing Our Poems," starting on the 19th, offers a special time to write your own poem with a famous author, create poem illustrations, and even make a collection of children's poems.
Supported by Korea Investment Corporation, this project consists of the children's poetry creation program "Poetry Gently in My Heart," focused on multicultural children and other culturally marginalized groups, and the "Year-End and New Year (Poetry) Book Concert."
Held over four weeks at Areumkkum Library, "Poetry Gently in My Heart" emphasizes learning what poetry is from an author and expressing one's feelings through poetry.
The program targets 50 upper-grade elementary school students, with preference given to children from multicultural families. Those interested can apply by accessing the QR code on the poster or by calling or visiting Areumkkum Library.
The unique works completed with the author will not only be compiled into a children's poetry collection but also submitted to a contest hosted by Korea Investment Corporation. Winners of the contest will be awarded at the book concert, and their works will be made into original songs and publicly released.
The "Year-End and New Year (Poetry) Book Concert" will be held on December 7 at the Jongno Children's Theater. For more details, please refer to the Jongno Cultural Foundation website or contact the Cultural Planning Department by phone.
