Ulsan tap water has passed all items of the drinking water quality standards in a recent water quality inspection.
The Ulsan Waterworks Headquarters announced on the 11th that the results of the tap water quality inspection conducted in Ulsan during July met the national drinking water quality standards.
The inspection covered treated water from the Hoeya and Cheonsang Water Purification Plants, with a total of 60 items tested.
According to the inspection results, all four microbial items, including general bacteria, total coliforms, and Escherichia coli, as well as 12 harmful inorganic substances such as ammonia nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, fluoride, heavy metals, and boron, were either 'not detected' or 'below the standard level.'
Additionally, all 17 items of health-hazardous organic substances, such as phenol, benzene, and carbon tetrachloride, were 'not detected,' and all 11 items related to disinfectants and disinfection by-products, including residual chlorine, total trihalomethanes, and chloroform, were also found to be 'not detected' or 'below the standard level.'
Furthermore, all 16 items related to aesthetic factors, such as hardness, odor, taste, color, and turbidity, were found to be 'not detected,' 'suitable,' or 'below the standard level.'
The results of water quality inspections on 104 household faucets and 10 old pipe faucets, selected based on the population served in each district and county, also met the water quality standards.
An official from the Waterworks Headquarters stated, "Regular water quality inspections show that the tap water supplied from purification plants to each household is much safer and cleaner than the drinking water quality standards, so there is no need for concern."
