Korean Air announced on the 9th that it has reached a tentative agreement on this year's wage negotiations with the Pilots' Labor Union.
Both parties agreed to increase the base salary and flight allowance by 3% each. Additionally, once the merger with Asiana Airlines is completed, a 50% bonus will be given as a congratulatory payment.
Other agreements include the payment of 600,000 welfare points as part of selective welfare benefits, the establishment of a new transit allowance for cargo flights, and additional criteria for recognizing senior captains. The tentative agreement will be finalized after a vote by union members.
The Korean Air General Union, which had been delegated bargaining rights by the management, agreed in May to a 3.4% increase in base salary for this year.
