Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association Holds Member Meeting
Yeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province hosted 16 members of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association Yeongju District Council (President Shin Younghee) on the 24th, operating the '365 Open Mayor's Office' under the theme 'Saving Lives, Sharing Warm Hearts Together.'
This meeting was organized to listen to the vivid experiences and stories of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association members, who have moved citizens through various volunteer activities, and to communicate together.
During the meeting, participants engaged in candid communication about current issues in a free and informal atmosphere. Various opinions were presented to promote the culture of local volunteering, including the enactment of support ordinances for the Red Cross Volunteer Association, the formation of volunteer groups in each town and township, the development of social contribution programs reflecting regional characteristics, and the improvement of volunteer center facilities.
President Shin Younghee said, "The Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association, based on the spirit of humanitarianism, is helping many people through volunteer activities," and requested, "We ask for generous support to assist the vulnerable in the community and to strengthen disaster preparedness and relief activities."
Mayor Park Namseo, who presided over the meeting, expressed deep respect and gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank you for your devoted service to the safety and welfare of our community," and added, "We will spare no effort in providing support so that our society can become a healthier and happier place."
Since May, the city has been holding the Open Mayor's Office every month. Last month, the mayor served as a one-day civil affairs office manager, directly meeting residents at the administrative welfare centers in towns and townships to listen to local issues and suggestions and seek solutions through the operation of the 'Citizen Happiness Civil Affairs Office.'
Yeongju City plans to swiftly reflect the diverse opinions of citizens gathered through on-site communication initiatives such as the monthly '365 Open Mayor's Office,' 'On-Site Communication Run to You,' and 'Citizen Happiness Civil Affairs Office' in its policies, thereby realizing open, citizen-centered municipal administration.
Yeongju City is hosting the 365 Open Market Room by inviting members of the Yeongju District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Society.
