Weight Loss After 7 Months of Stopping Delivery Food
A woman in her 40s from the UK has attracted attention from netizens after successfully losing 38 kg in just 7 months by quitting 'delivery food.'
The British media outlet The Sun reported on the 13th (local time) the weight loss secret of Pamela Oruke (44), who lives in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Oruke succeeded in reducing her weight from 95 kg to 57 kg in just 7 months.
Oruke's diet secret lay in delivery food. In the past, she reportedly consumed about 4,500 calories (kcal) per day solely from delivery food. The amount she spent monthly on delivery food reached approximately 1.07 million KRW. Over 5 years, this amounted to nearly 64.7 million KRW. Oruke usually enjoyed fast food such as McDonald's and KFC.

However, as soon as she quit delivery food, she noticed an immediate change in her body shape. She told the media, "I stayed away from instant food, carbonated drinks, and alcohol, and ate fish, vegetables, and chicken," adding, "I also combined walking exercises, and my weight started to drop within 7 months." Oruke explained that she limited her daily calorie intake to 1,000 kcal in this way, which allowed her to see results within a few months.
Oruke decided to diet after learning that an acquaintance she met during her school days was struggling with a degenerative disease. She said, "My friend became a soldier and is currently suffering from a motor neuron disease (a condition where motor nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control muscles are damaged)," and added, "That friend is fighting hard for life, but I felt ashamed of the way I was living."
Oruke said, "At first, it was difficult to quit delivery food," but added, "After about 4 weeks, the habit became familiar." She continued, "Now, rather than ordering delivery food, I prefer to go to restaurants and buy food myself." She also completely quit snacks and only eats simple biscuits with tea at night.
After losing weight, Oruke said that people's attitudes toward her changed, stating, "When I was overweight, I felt like an invisible person and couldn't get help. But after becoming slim, people who previously ignored me now ask me for advice, and even strangers ask me for diet tips or where I bought my clothes."
