Special Lectures for College Entrance Exam Preparation in Geumcheon, Mapo, and Guro Districts... Frequent Medical School Admissions

As the CSAT exam day approaches, the number of students preparing for the exam is gradually increasing.

Accordingly, autonomous districts in Seoul such as Geumcheon-gu, Mapo-gu, and Guro-gu are holding fairs and one-on-one counseling sessions to help students pass the CSAT.

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will hold a 2025 College Admission Early Decision Fair on July 13 at 1 p.m. in the main auditorium of Geumcheon-gu Office.

The fair is organized to support one-on-one counseling with admission officers from major universities for students and parents preparing for early decision applications.

The participating universities providing early decision admission strategies include 17 universities: Gachon University, Kyonggi University, Kwangwoon University, National University of Incheon, Kookmin University, Dankook University, Myongji University, Sangmyung University, University of Seoul, Sungkyunkwan University, Sungshin Women’s University, Sejong University, Soongsil University, Ajou University, Inha University, Hanyang University, and Hongik University.

The fair will be held in two sessions, each lasting two hours. The first session is for students and parents from Geumcheon-gu, and the second session is open to students and parents from other regions.

One-on-one counseling with university admission officers and counseling by career guidance teachers from four local high schools will be provided.

During the one-on-one counseling with admission officers, early decision application strategies will be offered based on analysis of each university’s previous year’s competition rates, admission results, and enrollment rates. Students can obtain information from multiple universities at the fair, helping them choose the university and major that best suit them.

Over the past three years, 50 universities have participated in the early decision fairs held by the district, providing over 1,100 counseling sessions.

Students and parents wishing to participate in the early decision fair can apply via the banner on the Geumcheon-gu Office or Geumcheon Career and Admission Support Center website, or through a Google Form.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I hope this early decision fair will be a great help to students and parents who find it difficult to obtain customized information for early decision preparation,” adding, “Our district will continue to provide tailored college admission support strategies centered on the Geumcheon Career and Admission Support Center.”

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) will hold the ‘2025 Early Decision Strategy College Admission Briefing’ on July 27 at 10 a.m. in the main auditorium of Mapo-gu Office for 500 students and parents preparing for college admission.

This briefing is designed to assist students and parents who are struggling to acquire information due to the rapidly changing college admission system and to support systematic early decision preparation.

To provide strategic university admission planning according to the 2025 early decision admission direction, Mapo-gu invited Yoon Yoon-gu, a representative EBS college admission lecturer and an advisory member of the Ministry of Education’s education policy committee.

Yoon Yoon-gu will explain the features of the 2025 college admission system, preparation methods, and characteristics of early decision admissions at major universities in an easy-to-understand manner over about two hours.

Participation in the briefing will be on a first-come, first-served basis from July 15 to 24, and applications can be made by accessing the QR code on the poster posted on the Mapo-gu Office website.

Additionally, Mapo-gu plans to hold a regular decision strategy briefing and one-on-one customized admission counseling sessions later to resolve students’ and parents’ questions about college admission and support successful admission.

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “We have prepared this briefing so that students and parents can strategically analyze and prepare for the complex admission systems and processes,” adding, “I hope this briefing will relieve concerns and questions about the direction and methods of early decision admissions, and Mapo-gu will always support youth in achieving their dreams.”

Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) is operating an individual intensive counseling period for local examinees preparing for the 2025 college admission early decision process.

Counseling will be conducted at the Guro Learning Support Center on weekdays and weekends.

Weekday counseling will be held from August 19 to September 6, with the first session at 6:30 p.m. and the second session at 7:30 p.m. On weekends, August 24 and 31, eight sessions will be held each day.

Applications open on the 17th and can be made through the Guro Learning Support Center website. Counseling sessions will be closed on a first-come, first-served basis, and the district will decide on additional sessions depending on demand.

Current and former university admission guidance support team members and affiliated instructors will provide one-on-one counseling at individual booths. Based on the counseling application form, they will analyze general admissions, student record-based academic and comprehensive admissions, and provide information to improve acceptance rates.

The district held admission strategy briefings in May and June, operates ongoing one-on-one customized counseling, and plans to hold a college admission early decision briefing on the 25th of this month, sparing no effort to support examinees’ university admission.

Moon Heon-il, Mayor of Guro-gu, said, “I hope this counseling will be of practical help for college admission,” adding, “After the CSAT, we will strive to be a reliable supporter through regular decision briefings and interview special lectures.”
